Mental Wellness Poetry Series

Mental Wellness Series 2026Parlé Endeavors, in collaboration with Love & Kindness Wellness Services and the Brownsville Neighborhood Health Action Center, are hosting a poetry workshop series on mental wellness.

All events are open to youth ages 15 – 24.

Workshops will offer poets an opportunity to share poems (incomplete or complete) around themes that include struggles with mental health, trauma or otherwise triggering.  Mental health professionals will support with coping strategies, breathing exercises, mental wellness counseling, and other support.

Workshops are on zoom from 6:00 – 7:00pm on Wednesdays:  April 15th, April 22nd and April 29th

TJ, who won our 2025 mental wellness slam will be supporting the workshops as a co-facilitator, sharing his mental health themed poems as well.

You don’t have to attend the poetry slam to attend the workshop – but it is highly suggested that if you are participating in the poetry slam that you attend the workshops.

Mental Wellness Poetry Slam 2026

Mental Wellness Slam 2026Details:

All poems must have themes of mental health, trauma, or healing to considered for the prizes.

Slam starts promptly at 5:00p.m. in Brooklyn. Please arrive early so we can get started on time.

Poets should plan for 2 rounds, where they will perform a poem that is no more than 3 minutes.

Only a select number of poets will move on to the second round.
